UMPIRE INFORMATION
UMPIRE CHOICES
Volunteer (unpaid):
Volunteering is personally rewarding, helps your community and may help fulfill TVLL volunteer or school community service obligations.
Contractor (paid):
Paid per game, fees vary by level and experience.
Flexible Scheduling
Choose games that fit your schedule from a list of available games on umpire website. Games are held weekday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday.
TVLL is a member of California District 57. There are 9 local leagues that comprise District 57.
Requirements for Umpires

Must be at least 12 years of age

Games on the weekend and weekday, Season February to end of July

Should be knowledgeable about baseball, but playing skill or current rules expertise is not required (but must be learned via training)

Attitude and effort to be the best umpire you can be

Attend required Pre-Season Umpire Meetings

Classroom Training
Umpire Training
We provide full training conducted by experienced umpires, including both “mechanics” (physical positioning and signals) and rules training. Training will take place in January and February.
